'"A Knight of Murder"

 

A Mystery with Dinner

 

7:30 p.m.

 

Reservations required




 


 

 

A tournament celebration is planned to honor the noble marriage of Baron Bartholomew to Lady Diana of Dunnsberry in the manor of Fernwood. As a resident of the manor, you are not only invited to be there, but your attendance is required by the request of your lord.

Whether it is to see knights jousting or to partake in the ale and entertainment, your business is but your own... that is until you .nd yourself in the middle of a murder. With only one night to .nd the guilty, you will soon .gure out that there is a lot more at stake, for murder in the manor is punishable by death. Whether you are guilty or not, there will be others trying to .nger you as the culprit as you try to .nd the real murderer, and only you can defend your innocence. Who do you trust? Who will betray you before the night is through? Everyone is a suspect and no one is safe in this mystery of medieval madness.

 


 



 

   What to expect:  

 

Stage One:  The Guests Arrive

 

•  Guests will receive your(A) envelope that includes their ‘gold’, name tag  and your objectives for the beginning of the event.

 

Stage Two: Introduction

 

•  After all the guests have arrived, Lord Taylor will begin with the introduction.

 

•  There will be a mingling time prior to dinner. This wil give you time to meet you objectives.

 

• Dinner will be served around 8:00 p.m. The menu for this affair is:

 

•  Roasted Beef

 

•  Roasted Vegetables Medley

 

•  Roll and Butter

 

•  Coffee, Tea, and Ale (ginger) will be served

 

Stage Three: Murder & Investigation

 

•  The lights to go off.  When the lights come back on, the victim will be dead.

 

•  Guests will receive (B) envelope that has been especially prepared for them.. This envelope will have new information and objectives for the guests to complete now that the murder has occurred.

 

•  During the investigation, dessert will be presented, and guests may eat and mingle while completeing their new set of objectives.

 

Stage Four: Evidence Presentation

 

•  After most guests have completed their objectives,  all evidence will be presented.

 

•  It is best if the evidence is then laid on a table so that everyone may see it.

 

•  Give your guests additional time to review the evidence.

 

•  At the conclusion of this time, all guest will fill out the "Who Dunnit" answer sheet.

 

Stage Five: The Solution

 

•  When all the " Who Dunnit"’ sheets are handed in they will be read aloud.

 

•  Winners will be announced and awards given out.

King Kyle:

The ruler of this prosperous kingdom.  He is well liked by everyone.  It’s hard to have many enemies when the punishment of betrayal is death!

 

Queen Genevieve:

Wife of King Kyle. She rules equally alongside her king.

 

Sheriff of Fernwood: The king’s of.cial in Fernwood. He is in charge of collecting the taxes in the manor,which have been dwindling even though prosperity seems to be at its highest.

 

Sherilyn:

Wife to the sheriff. Sherilyn will do anything to see her husband promoted. Especially if that means more riches and more power for her.

 

Lord Taylor:

He runs the manor happily with Lady Gwendolyn. He is throwing the tournament in celebration of his only son’s marriage to the noble woman of his choosing.

 

Lady Gwendolyn:

Runs the manor lands with her husband Lord Taylor. She is delighted for the tournament, it means prosperity and happiness and a chance to marry off her only son to another noble.

 

Baron Bartholomew:

The son of Lord Taylor and Lady Gwendolyn. The tournament is planned in honor of his marriage to another noble on the one year anniversary of their meeting. His only regret is that he must marry for wealth and not for love.

 

Lady Diana of Dunnsberry: Noble woman of Dunnsberry, she arrived in Fernwood in search of a husband that she found, but at the cost of breaking up one true love.

 

Maid Marilyn: Lady Gwendolyn’s lady-in-waiting. As Lady Gwendolyn’s right-hand woman, she is like a daughterto the lady. Maid Marilyn knows her lady will do anything for her happiness.

 

Sir Cameron:

A gallant knight that will be entertaining and .ghting for his honor in the manor tournament. Word is that if he wins, he will be asking for the favor of Maid Marilyn.

 

Sir Rufus:

The knight opposing Sir Cameron in the tournament. Sir Rufus is relatively new to the manor lands and does not have as favorable of a reputation that of Sir Cameron. He is hoping to increase his popularity with a victory at the tournament.

 

Gallant Gary:

Squire to Sir Cameron.  He will do anything for his knight, Sir Cameron. Gary must prove valor, loyalty and honor in order to be knighted himself.

 

Charlamagne:

As chamber maid, she is the lowest of the servants to live in the castle, Charlamagne has always resented not being higher in the class system. Charlamagne knows the manor in and out and has seen a lot. Her access to all the places may also be what gets her into trouble.

 

Poor Pearl: A peasant woman whose small earnings have grown even smaller since the sheriff has been enforcing the laws.

 

Joking Jerry:

As the court jester, it ’s his job to make everyone laugh. But at what cost does a laugh turn deadly?

 

Maid Medusa:

She has her sights set much higher than her class would suggest. Maid Medusa hopes to be married to Sir Rufus before the year is out.

 

William the Watchman:

As the manor watchman, he is the security for the lord and his manor lands. He is sure to be the enforcer if anyone gets out of hand at the tournament.

 

Maid Monica:

She is the one who always caught the Baron’s eye (and heart). Since his engagement has been set with another woman, some say she has turned rather ruthless.

 

Elizabeth the Elaborate:

A vassal to the Lord, she has some favor with the nobles. But is it enough to make Lord Taylor change his decisions concerning her daughter, or will Elizabeth have to take measures into her own hands?

 

Maid Victoria:

Another victim of a pre-arranged marriage to a man she does not love. Is her destiny sealed or canshe change it in just one night?

 

Wyatt Worker:

As a serf, Wyatt is the lowest in the class system. He needs to prove himself in order to get what he wants.
